Yemeni army denies claims of al-Houthi rebels



SANA'A, Sept. 01 (Saba) – The Yemeni Army's source has denied claims of the al-Houthi rebel group that they had taken control of the Army's 105 division with its arms and ammunitions.

"These allegations of the al-Houthi rebels are only to hide their defeats by the army forces in Saada province and Harf Sufyan area of Amran province", the source said.

It indicated that the military and security units continue chasing the terrorist elements of the rebel group at Mahdha area.

"The troops cleaned al-Husaini farms and al-Kurba al-Anqa of Saada in which the rebels were shooting the troops", the source indicated.

Saada's local authorities revealed that rebel leader Abdul-Malek al-Houthi had threatened villagers to destroy their homes and farms at al-Tawellah area if they did not follow him.

The source said that the rebel group had attacked and looted citizen's properties at the villages of Kadm, Esydan, al-Ashema, wadi al-Ayen and al-Zahriyah in Saada province.
