Military operations suspended in north

SANA'A, Sep. 04 (Saba) – The Yemeni government has announced suspension of the military operations against the Houthi rebels in Saada and some parts of Amran in northern Yemen.

The suspension is to start at 9 pm Friday.

The move comes, according to a security source, in response to calls of relief organizations to allow in aid for the war-affected people and commitment of the rebels that they will stop committing destructive acts and fighting the troops, the people and their properties.

The rebels also announced they will eliminate landmines, barriers and end sniper attacks.
